PWCC Certified - Eye Appeal Rating: Top 30%
Arguably the most recognized post-war baseball trading card in existence. Offered here is a beautiful example of what many collector's and investor's consider the holy grail of trading cards in the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle. This card is incredibly significant as it's the inaugural Topps design, it features 'The Mick' and furthermore, it's the kick-start to the ultra tough high-number series. Rarely does this card surface with such amazing attributes, held firmly within a PSA 4 holder yet boasting some qualities which exceed the technical assessment. It's tough to locate a PSA 4 with better centering than the offered specimen as nearly all are plagued by heavy left to right shifts. The surfaces on this fine-art equivalent are extraordinary with print, color and focus deserving of a higher grade. The borders are clean and the card stock is void of any wrinkles. Modest corner wear, mostly to the left two, is all that keeps from grading a half to full point higher. The '52 Topps Mantle continues to be a market staple and represents one of the safest investment pieces in the market. This beauty conservatively falls in the top 30% of our quality spectrum and ranks among the finer PSA 4s in existence. Please see the video highlight for more details on this offering.
