Critically Important Rookie Card From The Vintage Era
On the market this month is a beautiful '57 Topps rookie card which features perhaps the winningest basketball player in history. In 1955 and 1956 Bill Russell lead the University of San Francisco to back to back NCAA titles then went on to win the Gold Medal at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics and then further improved upon those accomplishments by winning eleven NBA titles. These statistics truly boggle the mind and prove how much of a dominate force Bill Russell truly was. This graded PSA 7 ranks among the finer copies we've seen in our long tenure and boasts wonderful overall presentation. Beautifully printed for the issue with only a couple of modest, very light flecks present. The card boasts precise registration throughout with vivid color and pristine borders around. All four corners are sharp and the periphery is void of chipping. So often plagued by heavy centering shifts, the offered specimen truly does possess strong centering for the issue even though a modest left to right shift is present. All told this is easily one of the most coveted and also undervalued investment caliber assets in the market; quality of this type simply doesn't surface on the open market. Not to be missed and comes highly recommended. One of over 16,000 cards, lots, and sets up for bid in our 10th Auction of 2019. Click on the link above to view the other PWCC auction lots.
