Premier Investment Piece From The Vintage Era
A truly iconic and immeasurably important card from the 1930s. Incredibly undervalued and represents DiMaggio's first main-stream production, considered his rookie card by most investors. The set's name (Heads Up) is derived from its unprecedented design - one that depicts a player's photographic headshot superimposed on a small cartoon drawing of his body. The issue is also noteworthy for its unique numbering system having picked up where Goudey's '33 set numerically left off. The offered specimen is just the second PSA 8 we've had the pleasure of brokering throughout our long tenure and is one of only twenty-eight examples in existence. The card possesses a crisp periphery along with undeniable NM-MT corners and card stock. The surfaces are extraordinary with precise clarity, bright color and beautiful print. Everything is where it's supposed to be when upholding the lofty assessment. All told this is a world class investment piece which seems poised for a tremendous ROI over the coming years. One of over 16,000 cards, lots, and sets up for bid in our 10th Auction of 2019. Click on the link above to view the other PWCC auction lots.
