A Critically Important Card - Must See
Such a great card, and impossibly rare in grades which exclude quality. Offered here is a truly special example of the hands-down rarest key rookie from all of the 1940s. The 1948 Leaf Satchel Paige is one of these hotly desired mainstream productions, yet also one of those cards you simply never can grasp on account of its inherent rarity and production limitations. Offered here is a truly special PSA 3, one which excludes many qualities beyond the technical grade assigned. The print, color, and focus are all tremendous for the issue. It's very rare to see this card with focus and coloring to match this example (in any grade). What's more, the centering is overall exceptional for the issue (rare). Upon close examination we see worn corners and some subtle edge faults which account for the technical grade. All told, this shines as a really wonderful example of a highly elusive card. A bit of wax on the back and a couple more heavily worn corners, most notably the upper left and lower right, are all that prevented our PQ designation. Rates a '2' on our scale and comes highly recommended. One of over 15,000 cards, lots, and sets up for bid in our 2nd Auction of 2019. Click on the link above to view the other PWCC auction lots.
