Critically Important Type Card - Must See
A truly special offering which we are delighted to feature here in auction 1 to start the new year. Easily the highest graded example of this impossibly rare issue we've brokered in our 20 years and its not to be overlooked. Instantly recognized as one of the market's most coveted type card issues, the 1968 Topps 3D production was a bold move by the Topps Gum company and would precede the technology later deployed by Kellogg's a couple years later. Very few examples were produced and what few did get made were largely discarded or heavily damaged over time as the plastic 3D coating is incredibly fragile and prone to foxing and/or other states of degradation. The offered PSA 8 is among the market's elite examples, boasting overall MINT qualities and generally shows as it did in 1968. The eye appeal is extremely high and it's fair to say that a PSA 9 or PSA 10 simply wouldn't look all that different. Upon close inspection we can see a very faint line of foxing in the lower right region to account for the NM-MT designation and prevent a higher assessment. Aside from this, the card is largely flawless and has few equals. We are proud to offer this wonderful specimen to the investment community and wish all prospective bidders the best of luck. One of over 16,000 cards, lots and sets up for bid in our 1st Auction of 2019. Click on the link above to view the other PWCC auction lots.
