1952 Topps Lo-Mid Grd COMPLETE SET Mays Mathews Berra Robinson Mantle PSA (PWCC)
Complete 407/407 Card Set - GD to VGEX - 5 PSA Graded
Condition Breakdown: 5% EX to EX+, 25% VGEX, 40% VG, 20% GD, 10% PR. An incredible offering of the most popular and beautiful Topps productions ever created! Rarely does a complete 1952 Topps set come on the auction block, especially one as nice as this. This set comes from an original collection and is new to the hobby. As with any mostly ungraded '52 Topps set the condition varies quite a bit. This set largely grades GD to VGEX with some attractive EX to EX+ cards present as well. Around 10% of the set grades PR due to tape residue, creasing, pen marks and the occasional pin-hole. The set has 5 PSA graded cards present including the all-important '52 Topps Mickey Mantle which is assessed as PR. This '1' shows very well for the assessment with beautiful centering, even corners and a well focused image of the legendary Yankee. Creasing and surface wear downgrade. The Robinson is a strong PSA 4 with bright color, wonderful focus and square corners. The Campy is a PSA 4 with attributes of a higher grade. It boasts exceptional print, color and focus for the assessment. Square corners with strong card stock for the grade. The Mathews rookie is a PSA 3 and boasts crease and wrinkle free card stock with strong corners and surfaces for the technical assessment. Some of the key ungraded stars breakdown as follows: Pafko is PR, Spahn is VG, Feller is EX/EX+, Martin RC is VGEX and Reese is GD. The Berra shows attributes of an EX card with outstanding centering, crisp edges and strong card stock. Light corner touches and a faint factory stain on his jersey appears to be all that downgrades. The Mays is PR with surface and corner wear. Also pen marks on the front and back downgrade. Every high-number is present and they grade similar to the overall technical assessment. Cards that have Black backs are the following: 1, 2, 5, 6, 9, 16, 18, 21, 22, 27, 32, 34, 35, 38, 39, 41, 44, 47, 51, 53, 54, 56, 57, 58, 59, 64, 67, 68, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75 and 80. An all around fantastic set of the all-important '52 Topps production. This is deserving of serious attention. All of the graded, stars, semi-stars and high-numbers are scanned for viewing.
